Update: June 18th 2013

Hey everyone, we apologize for the absenteeism as of late, but to give a brief run down of the last 6-7 weeks of medical related updates.

Barry had his 6 month scans done may 16th and a new spot appeared on the image opposite of the existing spot. The existing spot has been there since final scans in November 2012.  The new spot is near the T9 Vertebra, the location of the remaining tumor.

The re-scan was done July 12th and it is showing signs of increased activity as well as an increase in uptake (brightness) in the image.  A biopsy of the tissue will have to be done for more clarification . Which will be a PET scan guide needle biopsy. Anesthesia is required to perform the biopsy. The Drs are concerned it could be Ewing but are hoping it is not. We all are praying for the same.

Barry’s other scans came back clear and show no signs of any concern.

July 25th the biopsy will be performed. Barry continues to keep his spirits high and a positive attitude. He says “If its not a form of Ewings, that alone will put my mind at ease, & well if it is, than I’ll just have to look it in the face again and take is one day at a time.”

Thank you all for the continued support, thoughts &  prayers.
