As the weekend comes to an end the work week begins. As most of you know Barry had a PET scan done this past Thursday September 12th. He hasn’t received the final results as of yet, but from reviewing them with the surgeon it looked pretty good. There is not elevated activity showing on the left lung. The right side which previously showed high uptake (that was biopsy) has come down to red on the uptake image. However aside from the above Barry has surgery Thursday September 19th to have the nodule removed from his left lung. His right side has not fully recovered and now he must go through it again. It’s looking like a minimum of 4 days admitted possibly 7 days. Obviously there is always a chance of more depending how the removal of the nodule and piece of the lung goes. We are hoping it can be done arthroscopy but there is the chance a thoracotomy may need to be performed. Which is a longer recovery time; however Barry remains optimistic amidst all the controversy..

We are also sad to report that Michelle’s grandfather was laid to rest Friday September 13th. He passed away in the waking hours of Sunday September 8th 2013.
